Michael Jackson Tribute Comic In Works

To millions he was the King of Pop; one of the world’s most cherished entertainers and a celebrated international icon. With his untimely passing, Michael Jackson left an extraordinary and tragic legacy. Bluewater Productions is paying tribute in October to his memory and legacy with a special collectors edition biography comic.

The newest addition to the publisher's critically acclaimed biography library will trace Jackson's rise as a musical prodigy with the “Jackson 5” through last Thursdays sad end. The book will feature highlights from his storied career and cover his enigmatic private life.

“Michael Jackson's music served as the soundtrack to countless lives...including mine,” said Bluewater president Darren G. Davis, “His influence on our culture has been profound.”

“TRIBUTE: Michael Jackson, King of Pop,” features a wraparound cover and foreword by "The Official Michael Jackson Fan Club’s" Giuseppe Mazzola. Mazzola was also Jackson's personal friend. The issue is being written by Wey-Yuih Loh, (Political Power: Colin Powell” and “Political Power: Joe Biden) and illustrated by Giovanni Timpano (Vincent Price Presents). Noted cover artist Vinnie Tartamella will also provide an alternate wraparound cover.

“This is a celebration of his life and what he meant to a legion of fans,” Davis said. “Although the book won’t shy away from some of his personal troubles, we try to tell a balanced story that shows Jackson as a musical genius, an unparalleled superstar and as a complex person.”

Davis noted that he initially waffled at producing a tribute comic, but after receiving dozens of emails and phone calls he knew it was the proper way to show respect and give fans a lasting remembrance.

In recent months, Bluewater has become one of the leading producers of biography comics. Launched earlier this year, Bluewater’s “Female Force” has featured influential women such as Hillary Clinton, Michelle Obama, Princess Diana, Sarah Palin and Oprah Winfrey. A follow-up series, "Political Power" launching in July is set to turn the spotlight on politicians like Colin Powell, Barack Obama, and Al Gore.

Bluewater’s biography titles have drawn considerable media attention, including features on CNN, MSNBC, Fox News, and “Live with Regis and Kelly.” It has also been featured in such periodicals as People Magazine, Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune, USA Today and thousands of blogs and other media outlets.

Luxo Jr. Animatronic Debuts At Disney's Hollywood Studios

I'm a huge fan of Pixar films so when I saw the following footage of the new Luxo Jr. audio animatronic that debuted earlier in the week at the Pixar Place area of Disney's Hollywood Studios theme park at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida I was pretty excited.

Luxo Jr. is the latest in a string of 'Living Character's such as Stitch & Remy developed by Walt Disney Imagineering to bring the famous characters to life in new and ground-breaking ways.

Lindsay Lohan Pays Homage To Michael Jackson Via Twitter Pic

I never imagined that I'd be blogging about celebrity happenings as often as I have over the past 2 weeks. I personally don't like a lot of the celebrity gossip blogs/rags.

But, it's hard to pass up writing about certain things that you know will be gold for hits/views. Last week Lindsay Lohan posted a topless pic of herself on Twitter that sparked a little controversy and it appears she wasn't content with posting just one pic.

I just logged onto Twitter and saw Lindsay had tweeted a update that had a pic attached. The pic is LiLo's homage to "The King Of Pop" Michael Jackson who tragically passed away Thursday after suffering a heart attack.

I'm still trying to figure out what's going on in the background, the guy looks like he's taking a dump or is in agony from burning in his urethra.

Oliva Munn was at a premiere for the upcoming film (500) days of Summer and showed off more cleavage on the red carpet than she did in her very tame Playboy spread. To which I say to Olivia, bless your soul.

G.I. Joe Inspired Nike Alpholution Supreme

Nike is set to release a series of shoes inspired by G.I. Joe just in time for the release of the upcoming live action movie.

The pack will consist of a Nike Hyperize, Nike Zoom Sharkalaid and the Nike Alpholution pictured above. The Nike Alpholution pays tribute to Cobra with a blue,white and red color scheme. Some of the details include a snakeskin pattern and the toe box and upper, reflective 3M material and the Cobra logo.

Look for the G.I. Joe inspired Nike Alpholution and the rest of the G.I. Joe pack in the coming weeks released in very limited quantities.

The King Of Pop Michael Jackson Dead At 50

Very seldom do I get emotional at the news of a celebrity passing away but, the news of Michael Jackson's passing has me a little more than distraught and it is with a heavy and somber heart that I write this entry.

From the time I was a kid I grew up a fan of the Jackson 5 and Michael's solo work. And, despite all the allegations and legal troubles over the past several years I still remained a fan of his work. Michael was a humanitarian who truly wanted to make the World a better place to live in.

Hayden Panettiere's New Message To Petition Supporters

As I mentioned a few days ago the International Whaling Commission has granted a 1 year extension for Hayden Panettiere and The Whaleman Foundation's petition on Social Vibe to obtain 1 million signatures to help put a end to commercial whaling.

As promised Hayden filmed a updated video to help spread the word about the petition, social vibe and the efforts by Social Vibe's users to obtain over 168,000 signatures for the petition to date. The video was also featured on E news daily yesterday.

Katy Perry Likes Pizza With Her Baths

First Lindsay Lohan then Jewel and now Katy Perry is the latest celebrity to post a pic on Twitter showing off a bit more skin than usual.

Yesterday Katy tweeted a pic of her in the bathtub eating pizza, which I find to be a bit unsanitary but to each their own. It looks as if this current trend of celebs whoring themselves out on Twitter via pics wearing very little is just catching on which I personally don't mind as long as Oprah doesn't join in on the festivities.

Apparently during the period of time where I wasn't paying attention or caring Hilary Duff got really hot. Here she is frolicking around in a bikini on some beach,there's really not much more to say.

Kanye West x Louis Vuitton Don's & Jasper's

Hot off his collaboration with Nike, Kanye West is set to follow up his Nike Air Yeezy with a collaboration with famed designer Louis Vuitton.

The line will consist of various colorways of the Louis Vuittion Don and Jasper models. The shoes will use a bevy of colors and high quality materials mixed with Kanye's flamboyant and at times boisterous fashion hints.

The price range is a far cry from the Nike Air Yeezy which retailed for $225, the Don's will retail for $960 while the Jasper's will have a $990 price attached to them. The Kanye West x Louis Vuitton Don and Jasper collection will release World Wide in the next few weeks.

IWC Grants 1 Year Extension For Hayden Panettiere's Whaleman Petition

Last October Hayden Panettiere teamed up with a site that I have mentioned here numerous times, Social Vibe. Hayden along with the Whaleman Foundation teamed with Social Vibe to create a special petition to help put a end to commercial whaling in Japan, Norway and Iceland.

Over the last eight months more than 162,000 signatures have been collected and in the process has caught the attention of many including the International Whaling Commission.

Due to the overwhelming response the IWC has granted the petition seeking 1 million signatures a 1 year extension. The video below was shown Sunday night at the IWC conference.

If you haven't already done so please take the time to sign this petition and pass it around to your friends and family so they can sign it as well.

Zombieland Trailer

I saw this trailer last Friday before Year One and have been meaning to post it here since but for one reason or another haven't gotten around to do so until now.

Columbia Pictures' horror comedy Zombieland focuses on two men who have found a way to survive a world overrun by zombies. Columbus (Jesse Eisenberg) is a big wuss - but when you're afraid of being eaten by zombies, fear can keep you alive. Tallahassee (Woody Harrelson) is an AK-totin', zombie-slayin' badass whose single determination is to get the last Twinkie on earth. As they join forces with Wichita (Emma Stone) and Little Rock (Abigail Breslin), who have also found unique ways to survive the zombie mayhem, they will have to determine which is worse: relying on each other or succumbing to the zombies.

World's Greatest Dad-Red Band Trailer

From writer/director Bobcat Goldthwait comes World's Greatest Dad a dark comedy staring Robin Williams.

Williams plays Lance Clayton a high school poetry teacher who protects his family from shame following the embarrassing accidental death of his son. Lance writes a fake suicide note to cover up the death, but without permission the note is published and becomes an unexpected hit. Keen to be a successful author, Lance produces an entire journal which he passes off as his son's.

After much anticipation amongst the fanboy/gaming nerd crowd the new issue of Playboy featuring Oliva Munn on the cover and interior has hit stands today. Since I know we're in a recession I know that not everyone may have the extra money to drop down on periodicals so, I have taken the time to post Olivia's spread for you.
